Crypto casinos in Mexico
Online casinos in Mexico need a SEGOB permit. Offshore crypto casinos operate without one, and only some of them accept Mexican players. We show offers only from casinos whose own terms accept Mexico.
Online casinos in Mexico need a permit from the Secretaría de Gobernación (SEGOB) under the Ley Federal de Juegos y Sorteos. Offshore crypto casinos operate without one, so they are not authorised casinos in Mexico, and only some of them accept Mexican players in their own terms. Since 1 January 2026 the IEPS tax on online betting is 50% and also applies to foreign platforms. We show offers only from casinos whose own terms accept Mexico.
What this means for players
The Ley Federal de Juegos y Sorteos (1947) only allows betting games under a SEGOB permit, online included (law text, Chamber of Deputies). Article 13 penalises players at illegal gaming premises, a rule written for physical venues; we found no case against an online player (article 13). That describes what has happened, not a promise about what will.
No Mexican authority supervises offshore casinos, so complaints go to the casino’s own licence regulator (Curacao or Anjouan), not to SEGOB.
Many offshore casinos refuse Mexican players. On 1 October 2026, 4 of the 8 active casinos on our list did not accept Mexico. We only show offers from casinos whose terms do.
The SAT can order a temporary block of a foreign platform’s digital service if it does not comply with the IEPS rules (BAC, December 2025), and a SEGOB reform that would add technical blocking of unpermitted sites was awaiting approval on 3 September 2026 (Infobae). A site that works today could be blocked later, with your balance still in it.
Payments: SPEI bank transfers and OXXO cash payments are common in Mexico, but we have not checked which casinos accept them, so we do not claim it for any. Stablecoins are already widely used there; Chainalysis put cross-border stablecoin value at about USD 1.8bn a month in June 2026 (Chainalysis).
Taxes: ask a Mexican tax professional about your winnings. We do not give tax advice.
